Just a few more weeks and on 17-18 August world-class athletes will once again be aspiring to new heights at the 24th International High Jump Meeting in Eberstadt. Two world records, 4 European records, 1 Asian record and 15 national records have already been achieved at this, the world's most important high jump meeting. Exclusively presented by Hirschmann, now for the first time the world's top women high jumpers will also be competing in Eberstadt.

The starting field is impressive. European Indoor Champion Marina Kuptsova (Russia) will be aiming to win, as will the reigning 2001 World Indoor Champion Kajsa Bergqvist (Sweden) and other 2-metre high jumpers.

On the Sunday the top men in the world will be in action. Vyacheslav Voronin (Russia) intends to win for a consecutive third time. The 1999 winner Mark Boswell (Canada) has already chalked up 2.33 m and Jaques Freitag (South Africa), who is only 20 years old, achieved a height of 2.37 m in March. Also in contention for the title will be World Champion Martin Buss, World Championship runner-up Yaroslav Rybakov (Russia), the current number two in the world rankings Charles Clinger (USA), European Indoor Champion Staffan Strand and World Indoor Champion Stefan Holm (both from Sweden). Negotiations are also being conducted with further top high jumpers.

In connection with this event Hirschmann is issuing the ceramus-Sportedition: a 2-10 ml ceramus with special high-jump design, a precision stopwatch and a card signed by the winner of the women's event - as a limited edition, at no additional charge and only until 30.8.02.
